Mary DeFrank has lived and performed in the Portland/Seattle area for over 20 years. Mary and her husband, Charlie DeFrank, have worked, individually and together, with some of Portland's most innovative bands including The Goods, Shakers, The Results, Map of France, Crow and Corn Dog and the Broken Sticks. In addition to performing, each has been involved in various recording projects with young "up and coming" artists as well as with established musicians in the Portland area.

Mary and Charlie attend Clear Creek Community Church in Gresham, Oregon where Mary is on staff part time as Worship Coordinator. They are on the worship team and are actively involved in the worship ministry on a weekly basis. At Clear Creek, the music is a blend of both contemporary and traditional styles. Mary and Charlie are excited to see God moving in this caring and loving body of believers as they come together to worship the Living God in Spirit and in Truth, as they seek His will for their lives, and as they reach out to the surrounding communities.

For this recording project, Mary and Charlie concentrated their talents on carving out songs and recording them in their home studio. They then compiled 12 of their favorites, drove them out to Poundhouse Studio and, with the help of engineer Craig Brock and other creative musicians and friends, recorded "Out of Everything" in a record seven days. The result is a CD that combines strong acoustic/rock music, Etch-A-Sketch lyrics, inventive instrumentation, and compelling vocals.
